Family Engagement Workshop with Phyllis Harris
When families support child development and student achievement, positive outcomes are more likely. What can we, as educators, do to improve children’s experiences and gains? The challenge is to help families learn how to support their own child’s education. Family engagement helps families build partnerships with their child’s teacher and school.
Family engagement expert Phyllis Harris presents this training for early childhood providers focused on developing innovative techniques attendees can use to engage hard-to-serve families, including using community resources to help them meet personal and household needs so that they can focus on their child’s education. Attendees will also discuss ideas on how to bridge families, schools, and communities and gain resources they can use in their everyday work.
